On March 25, 2013, nearly 200 students, parents and community leaders ascended upon Northeastern University for the first Elev8 Youth Summit. The theme of the summit was from”Learning to Leading.” Youth participated in team building activities; giving them an opportunity to interact with other youth from various communities in Chicago.

All Elev8 Sites Sign On to Children's Defense Fund's Effort to Protect Children

All four Elev8 sites have signed on to a letter organized by the Children's Defense Fund that supports President Obama's plan to expand federal funding to increase positive school safety measures. The plan calls for universal background checks for all gun purchases, and prohibits the sale of ammunition magazines.
