Elev8 New Mexico Students Receive State Senate Recognition

Elev8 New Mexico students at Wilson Middle School in Albuquerque have been formally recognized by the state for their Crock Pot Project, a student-run campaign around hunger awareness and the need for more access to free lunch for fellow students. Elev8 NM Students with Governor Wilson

The students received a certificate of recognition from the state senate in honor of their campaign. The Elev8 students collected 430 student signatures for a letter to the school district asking it to provide free lunches at Wilson Middle School. They also provided testimony to the School Board urging the district to change its system for identifying students in need.
