City Council Members Respond to Elev8 Baltimore Students’ Concerns

Elev8 students at Dr. Rayner Browne Academy in Baltimore are playing an active role in community advocacy. Eight students from Browne Academy spent part of their first day of school discussing community issues and efforts for improvement with Baltimore City Council President Bernard C. "Jack" Young and Councilman Warren Branch.


Elev8 New Mexico Director Testifies Before the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee

On August 24, 2010, Renee Paisano-Trujillo, Director of Elev8 New Mexico testified before the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee on "Innovative Approaches to School Time."  Paisano-Trujillo spoke about the success of Elev8 New Mexico and the importance of extended learning time and integrated school services.


Elev8 Students Discuss Immigration Reform with Rep. Luis Gutierrez

On Saturday, August 7, 2010, students representing all five Elev8 Chicago schools led a town hall on immigration reform. The town hall featured Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Democrat from Illinois’ 4th Congressional District. Over 200 people attended the event, which was held at Orozco Academy, an Elev8 school in Gutierrez’s district.


Elev8 New Mexico Summer Enrichment Program

Incoming and current Elev8 New Mexico students at the Native American Community Academy (NACA) enjoyed a variety of exciting activities as part of the school's Summer Enrichment Program. Throughout the month of July, these programs helped students get to know the school and each other, and participate in enrichment activities.
